One’s perspective cannot exceed their understanding. In every aspect of
life, you can only understand what you already know, and the truth most
times is that what we don’t strive to learn, we tend to take for granted. It is
vital that we show an active appreciate for our bodies that do so much for
us daily; however, in order to develop an attitude of gratitude, we must
have a general understanding of the phenomenon of how our bodies
work in order to give us a reason to be grateful.
When is the last time you consciously did something 100,000 times in a single day? Can you even remember a time that you came close to doing
something that consistently for an entire day? It seems almost impossible
when we think about it, and even more unfathomable to consider doing
that same thing again for several consecutive days in a row. Yet, that is
the average amount of times the human heart beats every single day in
order to push blood through over 70,000+ miles of the human vascular
system after it extracts nutrients and oxygen from the atmosphere to
distribute it to trillions of cells to keep you alive. The more you think about
it and dig into the mechanics of the human body, the more you see the
miracle in every moment
The human body is the most advanced creation in the entire known
universe, and there are several ways to improve the relationship with your
body, such as by becoming a better listener to it. You can better
understand what your body is communicating to you through being
mindful of your lifestyle, posture, movement patterns, pain and
discomfort, blood flow circulation, energy levels, etc.
Dig deeper into understanding how much your body does for you, every
second of every day, since before you were born. Then marvel at how
phenomenal your body really is, and actively appreciate it.
The goal is to drastically increase gratitude levels through gaining true
knowledge and understanding. Learn the hard science of just how
amazing the human body is, and how to use the systems of the human
body for your benefit.
Once you develop a basic understanding of the systems of the human
body, learn the facts and science behind its physiological responses to
external stimulation and circumstances, and discover the basics of how
the human body systems function, then you can use them to your benefit.
You will learn to increase energy levels, reduce stress, increase
dopamine and serotonin secretion, reduce pain and inflammation, and so
much more. The end goal is that once learning how amazing the human
body is and how much it does, you will want to show your body a deeper
appreciation by the way that you live your life.
Bones:
Did you know that pound for pound, your bones are stronger than steel. A block of bone the size of a matchbox can support up to 18,000 pounds of weight. Bones have greater pressure tolerance and bearing strength than a rod of steel of the same width.
Eyes:
Did you know that blinking is actually a micronap? Yes, blinking helps keep your eyes moist and the dust out, but we blink about 15 to 20 times per minute to also help sharpen our attention and provide our bodies time to recharge.
Gut:
Did you know that there’s a network of neurons that lines the gut. The gut doesn’t just handle digestion. It comes with its own reflexes, senses, and is intricately interwoven with the nervous system. So, yeah, trust your gut!
