So often I realized that I do not always pardon others the same way that I expect to be pardoned or give others chances that I believe I myself should be given. This year Melissa helped me realize that one of the greatest gifts that I can give her and others is the gift of GRACE, and the best part is, it doesn’t cost any actual money.
Now, you might ask what is gifting grace and how do you give it? Gifting grace is the act of giving grace to yourself or another person. It can be interchanged with giving someone something that may be undeserving: a chance, more time, the ability to make mistakes without punishment, or forgiveness, as God continues to forgive us. Just as we don’t deserve God’s forgiveness, someone you know may not deserve yours, including yourself. It doesn’t matter; we are still commanded to forgive them.
This “giving season”, consider freely granting others grace around you in areas that you normally may not have in the past. Try putting these practical ways to extend grace to others into practice this season:
Forgiveness: One way you can show grace is by pardoning people who have wronged or offended you. By doing this, you can show others the grace of God. Your life then becomes a living example of the extension of God’s grace.
Encouragement: The words we use also have the power to spread grace. Kind words are essential to life. Use the power of your words to speak life into other people and into yourself. Let your conversation be always full of grace and love, so that you will be effective in communicating with others.
Serving: You can share grace by serving others with the gifts and talents that God has blessed you with. You have been blessed with specific abilities into your unique creation from the moment of your birth. Along with these skills, you have also been given the energy to serve others. So, this season, find opportunities to graciously serve others.
