overcoming shame

Growing up without a father, I knew I wanted to change that for my own children. I believed that simply being present would be enough, but I soon realized that my unresolved emotional issues and past mistakes were hindrances to my parenting. Through honest conversations with my kids about my struggles with shame, addiction, and defiance, I discovered the power of transparency. By sharing my imperfections and grounding our discussions in faith, I was able to build a stronger bond with my children and equip them with the wisdom to face life’s challenges with the spirit over the flesh.
