A wise individual learns from his own mistakes. A wiser person learns from others, but the wisest of them all learns from others’ successes. I desire to become the wisest, and so I started to study what successful people do. I learned that successful people set boundaries, and live by them.
Setting boundaries can make or break any relationship. I realized that I did not set the proper boundaries in my marriage, and we have struggled at times as a result. I want to formally apologize to myself and my wife for not knowing how to do this from the beginning. I thought that telling my wife that I needed to be respected was enough. It wasn’t, and it isn’t. It is my responsibility, as the head of the house, to create, initiate, and effectively communicate those boundaries in our relationship. It is then my wife’s responsibility to align with them. As the head of the house, I have to get those boundaries directly from God and the Word of God. Men, that is our responsibility, to seek God -to know His voice and His rules for us and our relationships, especially the relationship with our wives.
When our wives know that we are submitted to God and know His voice, it will be easier for our wives to submit to the boundaries that we set for the house and the marriage. Men, if you have not done it properly, it’s not too late. Put your pride and ego to the side, and ask God to forgive you. Then ask your wife for forgiveness as well. It is time that the men of God stand up, and take charge of the home to the glory of God.
It took time for me to recognize my failure to set proper boundaries. I have repented, and I am going to do it God’s way moving forward. I challenge all the men to do the same. There is power in setting Godly boundaries for yourself and your family. Boundaries actually help you to become boundless. Take the step of faith to set new boundaries, and see the power you and your family will move in. The peace of mind that will come from order is amazing. I believe your lives will transform by setting boundaries. I am a living example of when you’re obedient and set parameters in your life, you will become limitless and abundance will flow in all areas of your life.
