From Fear to Faith: Rediscovering God

Welcome to the start of something new! Many of us avoid facing our true selves—the good, the bad, and everything in between. But God doesn’t call us to stay in fear or run from our truth. Instead, He calls us to face it with Him. While we often hear the phrase ‘Trust the Lord’ in the face of difficulties, putting that trust into practice is easier said than done. Trusting can be difficult when we can’t see the future, but God still calls us to trust, even when we don’t understand

To do this, we need to align ourselves with God’s Word and reflect His image daily. When we do, we can face the truth about ourselves and grow in faith.

One critical question to ask is, “How do I see God?” Do you view Him as a judge or as a loving Father? Many struggle with the idea that God is loving and kind, feeling instead like they must be perfect for Him.

But that’s not who God is. He wants us to see Him as a compassionate Father who loves and comforts us.

Another essential question is, “Who told you to doubt?” When things seem wrong, it’s easy to believe they will stay that way, but Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) says to trust in the Lord with all your heart. God doesn’t want us to live in fear—He wants us to trust Him completely. As His children, there’s no need to be afraid when the Almighty is by our side.

Let’s start something new by choosing to see God as a loving Father and trusting Him more deeply. As we do, we’ll be better equipped to face our fears and grow in faith.

Homework:

  • Picture God as a loving figure that brings you comfort. Pray every day.

  • Reflect on your loved ones. Jesus wants to love you the same way.

  • Memorize Mark 11:24 (NKJV): “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
