Frequent Fitness

This one question is always asked of me, “What do you do, to stay fit.” Well, there are several aspects, but mainly diet and exercise. Sounds pretty ordinary and easy right? It is actually very tough, but there is hope. Being fit involves two important details: a changed mindset, and maintaining consistency. Perfection is an impossible feat when it comes to anything, but especially when working to stay fit. You will not be perfect! If perfection is what you are striving for, you will fail every time. First and foremost, your mindset has to change if you  want a healthy habit to become apart of your daily lifestyle. Without the changed mindset first, you will always fall back into  old practices. Just like New Year’s resolutions, you will most likely end up returning to square one. Consistency will arise if, and only if, your mindset shifts.

Consistency is what will sustain you when you “don’t want to”. Consistency will propel you to change your mindset from, not “feeling” like doing it, to “I must do it.” Consistency is the goal, not perfection. Life will happen. Curve balls will be thrown your way, and often prevent your routines. That does not mean that you give up on the goals you set for yourself. If you miss a day, your consistent routine will force you to continue the process. Set your goals in increments, and achieve them daily. If you happen to miss a day, get back to it, and your lifestyle, mindset, and habits will continually change due to your consistency. Continually renew your mind, and be consistent. It will take you a long way.
