This year has been incredibly challenging. The number of responsibilities that we have taken on is inconceivable, to be honest, and the amount of energy and effort exerted daily has been intense. Even now, I am challenged to continue selecting positive words to describe our circumstances while maintaining an attitude of gratitude for the provisions and opportunities that the Lord has given us in this season. Building out a brand as big as StrongHome based on a vision given to us by God is no small task by any means. We have the production of our monthly magazine, casting for our shows and features, four podcasts on our network, content to plan out, shows to film and edit, events to plan to build out our community, a book that we are writing, sponsors to secure, fundraisers to facilitate, grants to write, curriculums to complete, and campaigns to create —all while balancing our entrepreneurial endeavors, family responsibilities, and daily personal tasks. While each of these projects is a blessing from God, they could easily become overwhelming and even discouraging without the resilience we have cultivated.
Why do we need resilience? Because resilience is what keeps us going when life feels like it’s throwing more at us than we can handle. It’s the inner strength that helps us rise after being knocked down, adapt to unexpected challenges, and keep moving forward even when the path is rough. It’s about thriving in difficult times, not just surviving them. Resilience turns challenges into opportunities for growth, making us stronger and more capable.
Resilience is crucial right now because, without it, everything we’re building could become too much to manage. But because we’ve nurtured this resilience, we can keep pushing forward, keep believing in the vision God has given us, and keep striving toward our goals, even when it’s hard. It’s what turns overwhelming tasks into manageable ones and keeps us grounded when everything around us feels chaotic. It’s why we remain focused and steadfast despite the demands of building StrongHome.
We’ve built this resilience by surrounding ourselves with supportive people who lift us during tough times. We’ve cultivated a positive mindset through optimism and gratitude, which help us see challenges as opportunities for growth. By embracing change and staying flexible, we’ve adapted to the surprises life throws our way. Prioritizing self-care, focusing on physical health, mindfulness, and setting realistic goals has helped us manage stress and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
