Walking in your purpose is powerful—it means living in alignment with who you are and what you were meant to do. This alignment allows you to experience life to the fullest. When you operate in purpose, everything falls into place, bringing a deep sense of fulfillment.
To live with purpose, you must first understand what that purpose is. Some may question whether each person has one specific purpose, fearing it could feel limiting. But in truth, we all share a common purpose: to use the gifts and talents God has given us to fulfill His plan and glorify Him. It’s not about being confined to a single path but about using our unique abilities for a higher calling.
The Bible tells us that ‘the gifts and calling of God are without repentance,’ meaning that once He gives them to you, they are yours to use. Our responsibility is to recognize these talents and use them to their fullest potential, all while glorifying God. Your purpose may differ from mine, but the ultimate goal remains the same—fulfilling God’s plan and helping others along the way.
I recently visited my friend Jamee Dezousa, co-founder and mastermind behind Spectacular Academy, and fiancée of R&B star Spectacular Smith. Every time I’m around her, she has this incredible way of bringing clarity to my chaos.
I often find myself stuck in my business or nonprofit, struggling to find direction. But Jamee has a unique ability to ask the right questions, making me dig deep and uncover solutions I hadn’t seen before. The clarity I gain from our conversations empowers me to move forward with confidence and purpose. That’s because Jamee is walking in her own purpose—she’s been called to help others find theirs.
When you walk in your purpose, you not only experience life to the fullest, but you also help others do the same. So, take the time to discover what you were meant to do, then walk boldly in it—the world needs what you have to offer.
Five Ways to Help You Find Your Purpose
Pain – Your struggles can become your purpose, enabling you to help others overcome similar hardships. The lessons you’ve learned through adversity equip you with wisdom and compassion that have the power to change lives.
Pleasure – What brings you joy can guide you toward your calling. If something excites you and gives you a sense of fulfillment, it’s worth exploring as a potential path to your purpose.
Passion – Deep passion often reveals what you were meant to do. The things you naturally gravitate toward and feel strongly about are often indicators of where your greatest impact lies.
Potential – Untapped skills and talents may hold the key to your true purpose. Developing these abilities can open unexpected doors, leading you toward a path that aligns with your calling.
People – Your impact on others can reveal your calling. Pay attention to how people respond to your influence and the areas where they seek your guidance—these may be clues to your purpose.
Your purpose is already there—it’s waiting for you to uncover it. It may take time, but when you start listening to your experiences, the clues will become undeniable. Walk in that purpose with confidence, knowing it’s uniquely yours to fulfill. And remember, it all leads back to glorifying God in everything you do. The world needs what you have to offer.
