2023 was filled with lots of unexpected challenges to overcome, all of which I can confidently stand here in 2024, and declare that those challenges were in fact, overcome, but not without discomfort, fear, reluctance, adversity, and dread. The funny thing is that Jeff and I seem to have switched roles in the area of required healing, whereas he has been the one in the past that had needed physical recovery, whether it be from his previous collarbone injury, or from his rigorous daily workout sessions, and I have done more of the processing of emotional healing from past experiences. But 2023 took an interesting turn when I found myself undergoing three unexpected, but vital surgeries throughout the year (all of which have thankfully resulted in complete recovery and healing), and Jeff began to become more aware of the emotional healing required from past experiences that he had ignored and overlooked.
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, 2024, it is not just a change in the calendar but an opportunity for renewal and growth. Reflecting on the challenges of 2023, we acknowledge the discomfort, fear, and reluctance that accompanied them. Yet, stand here in 2024, declaring triumph over those obstacles. In the spirit of embracing a new beginning, let us collectively resolve to heal from any traumas, pain, or difficulties that marked the previous year. This commitment propels us into the new year unburdened, fostering an environment for unhindered success and progression. By making room for healing, we create space to welcome the blessings that await us in the coming year.
